Tri-County Web Consulting is a small web development/design company dedicated to exceeding your web site needs.

Located in Hebron, CT., in the southwestern corner of Tolland County. Giving me quick access to the three surrounding counties Tolland, Windham, and New London.

So who am I John Orzell?

It all began back 2004 when a group of concerned non-partisan taxpayers got together to find solutions to slow down the almost double-digit tax increases. We decided the best way to reach all of the community was to create a web site to post information and let people made informed decisions.

Well I didn't really know how to built a content management system web site, so I design a HTML based site. This really caused management problems after a year or so of adding pages and documents for downloading.

Building that site really got me excited about web design and wanting to learn more. So I bought a couple of basic html books and went to work. At that time I didn't know how to use CSS or build table free sites.

The site got a little local press and after that I got a call from one of our members asking me if I would put a site together for him. I developed my first table less sites for Ronald Winter Books. That's when I founded Tri-County Web Consulting late in 2004 and began building freelance web sites.

During those early days, I didn't know or think about future expansion of a web site. But as I found out very quickly if you have a constantly changing, information intensive site you need to think about either a content management system or an efficient way to add pages to a site.

I have found a CMS which can be use to run almost any kind of web site which give the option to easily add content as the site grows also add value to it. A good example it the newly relaunched Hebron Dollar and Sense site.

Now a little about myself. I'm happily married to my wonderful wife, Beth. We have to grow boys who are out making their way in the world.

Being in the Data Processing field for more than twenty years I have seen the field evolve from a mainframe environment to client/server based. This exposed me to PC's and the application that run on the servers delivering the necessary product to the clients to do their work. Helping the client use a PC gave me first hand experience in learning how a web based is built, the code which you see in the screen.

This introduction to HTML gave the necessary skills to start designing basic web site. So I took as many classes as I could at Manchester Community College to learn new coding practices. The past couple of years I read every book in their library and bough the latest to keep my skill set up to date.

Currently I'm the Vice President of CT 66 BNI, a chapter of Business Network International which meets in Marlborough, and serves the Route 66 corridor from Portland to Columbia.
