I've been reading a lot about the lastest Google search reasults and found that 50% of the searches for local businesses are done on mobile devices. That being said I just revamp this site to a more responsive structure.
If you view the site using Chrome browser then srink the the view port to the left or right the site will respond. Give it a try.
Coming in 2013, Tri-County Web Consulting will be offering an affordable option to get your business or organization on the internet.
Launching a website can be an expensive project for a small business but a necessary one. A web site should solve a problem for your business such as, less calls for directions, provide information on new products, etc.
Your web site needs to be designed and developed to be an employee that works 24/7 for the business.
I am offering a Joomla developed web site which can be paid monthly to eliminate a large cash layout to get a website online.
The monthly fee will include:
- Professionally designed website powered by Joomla Content Management System (CMS)
- Site Hosting for the website files
- Registration of one domain name
Do you own your personal domain name Well if you are in business, planning to go into business or in a position where your reputation is on the line, then you MUST register your name.
For instance I own JohnOrzell.com. I don't have a website to go along with it.
So where am I going with this? For instance you own a business and believe it or not, you can not make all your customer happy 100% of the time. That one customer buys your name and puts a website online to attack you.
Since he/she own yourname.com there's not to much you can do without spending money to try and have the site taken down or get yourname.com back.
I have made it very convenient for you to grab yourname.com domain, before someone else does on the Client Portal page.
Wow, it's been a little while since I updated the portfolio page.
Over the past year several of the site have under gone a re-design or complete over haul. Most notably is J.J. Sullivan Company which was converted to a Joomla powered site.
I also brought back the homepage slideshow.
Over time one of the first questions I get from a client is "How much is it going to cost?" well here's a tool that I hope helps answer that question.
There are several variables that can add or subtract from the cost of a site. Do you have a branding already and need a custom website to match or are you starting from scratch? What component's will you need to make the site help your business? Are there free or lost cost extensions to meet those needs? Basically only you can answer how much the website will cost.
After out initial meeting and discussing your individual website needs can I make a more accurate estimate. So use the Website Cost Estimator as a guide only.
Why I'm Only Building Joomla Websites form Now On!
Written by John OrzellAfter several years of developing websites and working with clients I have concluded that at some point in time the client will out grow the site. So, instead of having to convert a basic HTML/CSS site to Joomla why not just do it once and save a lot of time and effort later.
The biggest request I receive is to be able to update the site when needed. Many times it's just a price change, swap out an image, etc. so building a site running on a content management system such a Joomla solves their requests much more efficiently. It also provides the framework to add a forum, social feeds, photogallery, or slideshow much more quickly.
Another advantage of using a CMS is the ability to create a special feature such as the one on the French-Canadian Genealogical Society of Connecticut's website. Which is used to add Surnames to a database that the members are researching and the ability to find other members researching the same family as themselves.
Those are some of the reasons for my decision if you have any comments I would be happy to hear from you.
Joomla 3.0 is coming in mid-September are you ready? If you have not updated your 1.5 version to 2.5 I can help you with that major web development undertaking.
The big difference between 1.5 and 2.5 is the database. The database gets a major overhaul which is the most significant change. What does that mean? It means you will need to install 2.5 versions of all you extension, if they are available, or find replacements.
So far I have not had any problems finding a new version of the extensions I have recommended to my clients. Which means that I do not have to rebuild any or redo any of my previous work thus a faster turn around to go live.
Generally it takes several days to convert a site, install and check to make sure the converted site is ready to live and replace the old. Contact me if you need help or want me to handle the whole project.
Checking how my site are doing in Google Webmaster, I found New England Kitchen & Bath was #1 for the search term "kitchen remodeling ct". Time to do a little bragging.

I found a video that clearly explains the process of developing keywords to use on your website.
There are 4 steps in the process which will take most of your time putting together the content for your site. But, once you have a keyword list to work with the content will be mush easier to write.
