Reverse SEO

Well I never though I'd get a email asking me to undo search optimization to a site. There's a first time for everything.

I reworked Snug Harbor Massage site about a year ago. It was created using all images, it looked great but had no content for the search bots to index.

Basically I reused the images minus the words and rebuilt the site in html/css. Luckily the original font was Papyrus, which is one of the common fonts found on almost all computers. So I loaded the content back with actual search-able content.

To make a long story short the owner of the site is now getting calls from all over the state. But, there's allway a but, since she is a registered therapeutic massage expert, the calls she is receiving are not on the up and up. That's where the problem is.

So now I have to reverse the seo. Any suggestions?

Great Customer Service and Nice PayPal Button

A shout out to Michael Babcock the developer of Nice PayPal Button Plugin for joomla. I purchased this plugin back in September 2009 and it worked great on two sites that needed a fast, easy and usable pay button.

I contacted Michael yesterday about his update policy. He said it changed this April and since I purchased Nice PayPal Button Plugin last year he honored his update policy and sent me a new version. Thank You, Michael.

So, if you need a PayPal button for a joomla website stop by TriniTronic and see all they have to offer.

Going Greener

This month I'm going green, well greener.

I've been trying to cutting down on sending invoices through the mail. You know the usual things; less paper, energy to send... Now that I think about it the governments initiative to go green is really going to hurt the postal service.

Now, you can pay your invoice online through PayPal.

Web Site Marketing - What a good site needs

This weekend I've been going some research and found two key issues that need to be addressed to help with Google, Yahoo! and BING rankings.

1) Select a unique keyword phrase for each page

2) Quality incoming links to your site

I use Market Samurai perfectly designed tool for developing a keyword list and along with just everything you need to successfully market your web site. To get a list of keywords Google finds on your site, login to your Google Webmaster Tools account, select a site you have registered and on the right side of the dashboard is a short list of the keywords found on your site.

Download the list and you have the best starting point to build a keyword list. If Google thinks the words are important, they are what is used to generate the search reseults on Google.

Next take that list and enter one into Market Samurai to start the process. For more information about Market Samurai

Second on my list of SEO importance is developing quality links back to your site. Please do not even consider using a paid links back to your site. You could be adding your domain to a blacklisted site and get blacklisted yourself on Google, Yahoo or BING.

Develop links back to your site by contacting reputable sites with a similar theme or subject matter as yours. For example if your site is about stroke survivors, do a search on either search engine and find credible organizations to exchange links with.

There many more ways to market your site and I'll be touching on more next.

How much would it cost?

That's a fair question from a client and I hear it often. But, how do you answer it truthfully?

Think about your own business. You have a pricing guide that you go by but, what happens to the cost if your client has changes, additional requests, or if a bigger problem than you expected. You have to adjust the price you charge accordingly.

The same goes for building a website. There are variables that determine the prices I quote.

If you require a totally unique design then I would go to my trusty friend Brian at Abacab Designs. To have him create that one-of-a-kind design. Of course the price of the site would increase. Do you need a Contact Form, Google Map, Blog, Photo Gallery, or e-Commerce. These are factors that determine the price.

I can give a more accurate estimate after our initial meeting and finding out what you want the site to for your business. Determining how much time needs to go into creating the layout and images. Also what features you want to add to get your site done the way you need it to be.

So, what does this mean? Contact me, we can sit down discuss what you need and then I can give you  a honest and fair quote.
