Clear Objective of your Website

I just finished reading about the number one mistake that can be made on a website. The big mistake is no clear objective of what you want your site to do.

When you are in the beginning stages of planning your website you have to decide what you need it to do to help your business or organization. You know your business better than anyone, who your target market is and how to service that market. This information is what determines the objective of your website.

You need to describe the problem your customers have on the site and how you are going to solve it for them. The objective of your site must be to solve that problem.

In this business climate your website has the ability to reach customers 24/7. Your website is the best marketing tool you can invest in right now. Make it the focus of your marketing campaign.

Customers can find out about you at their convience, then decide if you can help them. It gives them a way to contact you anytime and it gives you a way to get back to them as soon as possible. Because if you don't someone else will.

Content Marketing

As a member of the CT 66 BNI group located in Marlborough, CT I've talked a lot about adding a Business Blog to a small business site. Well, let's put this another way. How about adding Content Marketing to a small business website.

I did not make this term up nor do I take any credit for it. I just like the way it really portrays the essence of what a Business Blog should be. Here is where you decide which direction you want to go with the blog, or should I say content marketing. You can take a few different routes.

One would be to use it as a commercial for your business. Tell your visitors about the specials you are running or about a new product or service. Or you can show that you are knowledgeable in your field or position yourself as leader in your industry. No matter what you do with the content marketing you add to your site it must solve a problem or answer daily challenges your clients have.

To sum it up, your content should be about your customers needs, solve those issues and address those problem on a regular bases.

Joomla New England Day

Well it's less than a week away, Joomla New England Day, I can't wait.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of the very best joomla designers New England has to offer. Barry North will be there and he will be the most prominent joomla expert there.

Also, Mitch Pirtle will be speaking, looks like I get to hear one of the Joomla Project co-founders as well.
