Business Relationships Revisited
I just came back from my BNI meeting and we talked about another aspect of business relationships. What I think it comes down to is not "What's in it for Me" but "What's in it for the Client".
What I mean is, as a service provide, how can I solve your problem or provide with a solution to what you need to conduct your business. That being said, sitting down with a client or prospect we must listen to them and learn how they conduct their business so we can provide a solution for them. This is the beginning of the relationship process.
In the web design field many times the client knows they need a web presence but do not know how to go about or where to start. That's when I give a gentle nudge and tell them the basics on how to get online.
- Domain name
- Hosting
- Web Site
- Boucher site
- Content Management System
Building a relationship with your clients helps them to understand if you have the skills to help them. Like my mother says, "It's a two way street", and both parties need to know where the other is coming from. When this happens you both can decide if working together is going to be beneficial to each of us
Add a commentBusiness Relationships
I just finished reading an interesting blog post about why you would add a blog to your web site. To read the whole article follow this link.
Basically it's about what you think you will accomplish with your blog, for example gaining new clients versus building a relationship then gaining a new client. So learning for it I'm in the process of changing my way of thinking and using this blog.
I renamed the menu link form News to Blog, that a first step. Shortly I'll make commenting available with each post. For now you can contact me from the Contact page.
Add a commentFavicon
When you go to a website and see the little icon next to the url in the address bar, and say hey I want one. Well if to go to favicon.cc and get you own.
You have a couple of choices 1) create from scratch 2) import an image and create a favicon from it. There Tri-County Web Consulting's favicon was created there and add to my site.
Add a commentD&S ported to Joomla
Tri-County Web Consulting has ported my original website Hebron Dollars and Sense over to Joomla. Using a cms like Joomla could not have made it easier to add information to the site.
Add a commentGoogle AdSense
Tri-County Web Consulting is now using the "Best PHP Open Source Content Management System" for 2007, Joomla 1.5. So I'll be using my site as a live test bed for the latest extension created for the CMS.
This week I installed Phoca - Google AdSense Easy for adding Google AdSense to a site. Believe me it could not be easier. An example can be seen in the lower right hand corner of my site.
The only desicsion you have to make is where to place the module. If you have upgraded to Joomla 1.5 and wnat to add Google AdSense to a side this is a great extension.

Connecting with Tri-County Web Consulting was one of the best things we’ve ever done. As a nonprofit company, we had found it very difficult to locate a firm that would care for and maintain the online edition of our newspaper for a reasonable fee.
